SERVICES

Ways to work together.

From a single convening to a standing council, Dr. Johnson manages your vision from ideation to implemenation.

Convening & Council Design

Bringing the right people together, from ideation to implementation.

Some of the most impactful work happens when the right people with a shared purpose are in the same room.

Dr. Johnson curates spaces for stakeholders and designs convenings for organizations. She has a gift for assembling objectives' specific stakeholders and community partners, and for chartering committees and councils through its lifespan.

Convenings

Symposiums, conferences, town halls, and community conversations, designed and directed end to end so participants co-create knowledge, leave more connected than they arrived, and generate data worth acting on.

  • Define the purpose, audience, and format, then set the guiding theme that anchors the whole convening.

  • Lock objectives, budget, date, venue, and agenda architecture, then assign your planning team.

  • Open registration, launch the promotional campaign, and drive targeted invitations to the people who need to be in the room.

  • Build the run-of-show, coordinate AV and rehearsals, and confirm accessibility and hospitality needs.

Councils & Committees

Advisory councils, commissions, committees, and work groups built for sustained work, complete with the charters, bylaws, curated membership, and subcommittees that turn a shared purpose into a finished plan.

  • Define why the body exists, its authority, scope, lifespan, and how its work moves into action.

  • Map the expertise and lived experience the work requires, then balance voices so the body reflects the whole, not just the credentialed.

  • Codify purpose, roles, and decision rules in a charter, and set cadence, quorum, and norms for accountability.

  • Translate discussion into concrete recommendations, tie them back to the mandate, and move them into the hands of those who can act.

THE BOOK

Hijacking Equity & The Fight for Justice

A Practical Guide to Language, Liberation, and Leadership in a Time of Fear.

At a moment when the word "equity" has been stripped, weaponized, and legislated away, Dr. Johnson offers something the national conversation desperately needs: clarity. This groundbreaking book dismantles the deliberate confusion around equity language, exposes how power operates through the manipulation of words, and gives readers — whether they are in a boardroom, city hall, or a classroom — the tools to fight back with precision and purpose.

Anchored in her original theoretical contribution, Distributive Justice (DJ), and the practical application of Joy is Strategy™, this is a practitioner's guide to language, liberation, and leadership in a time of fear.

PROPRIETARY FRAMEWORKS

Joy Is Strategy™

JOY RESTORES

A framework centered on the radical proposition that joy is not a reward for justice work — it is a tool of it. Joy restores the three capacities that systems of oppression are designed to deplete: imagination, discernment, and solidarity. Delivered as workshops, keynotes, and training intensives.

Distributive Justice

STRATEGIC EVOLUTION

Dr. Johnson's original theoretical contribution, positioned as a fourth sociological paradigm. Distributive Justice moves beyond the language of equity toward actionable redistribution of power, access, and resources — grounded in Black feminist, decolonial, and abolitionist intellectual traditions.
