About Dr. Johnson
Dr. Arelia Johnson is a sociologist, criminologist, and implementation strategist whose experience spans public leadership, education, research, community organizing, and organizational development.
She served as Harris County’s first Chief Officer of Human and Civil Rights and has developed countywide training, created professional learning programs, managed collaborative initiatives, and contributed research on institutional policies and practices.
Her approach connects an understanding of systems with the practical work of implementation. From councils and commissions to internal work groups, convenings, and cross-sector initiatives, she designs the processes, tools, and accountability structures that move organizations from ideation to implementation.
